History and art buffs can fill their days with visits to such sites as Grossmünster, a Romanesque 12th-century church considered to be the birthplace of Switzerland’s reformation movement; St. Peter’s, Zurich’s oldest parish church with Europe’s largest tower clock face; and Schweizerisches Landesmuseum, a fairy-tale castle showcasing an expansion art collection dating from the Middle Ages.
