USA - Key Largo - Florida Keys
The self-proclaimed “diving capital of the world,” Key Largo is equally popular with sportfishers, golfers and beachcombers. North America’s only living coral barrier reef lies off the island’s east coast, and its waters team with marlin, sailfish, yellowtail and grouper.
Key Largo is the closest island in the Florida Keys archipelago to the mainland. The Overseas Highway, or U.S. Highway 1, connects Key Largo and its sister islands to the southern tip of the Florida peninsula. Its proximity to the Everglades makes it a popular destination for kayakers and ecotourists, while other visitors are content to simply relax under a palm tree on one of the island’s lovely beaches.
Guests at the luxurious Ocean Reef Club at the northern tip of Key Largo enjoy access to the island’s finest recreation: two championship golf courses, a salon and spa, Har-Tru and grass tennis courts, an Olympic-sized swimming pool, salt-water swimming lagoon, bocce, bicycle rentals, a fully equipped fitness center, and much, much more.
Deep sea sport fishing, reef fishing, tarpon and bone fishing are all available in the waters surrounding the club. In addition, there are sunset and nature cruises, special promotions and packages, SCUBA, snorkeling and a full array of boat and watersport rentals. The club’s Marina can accommodate 175 yachts.
