Palace Luzern’s ESPA Makes the Hot List

“The drop-dead Alpine views and the sweeping blue of Lake Lucerne out front make this new 8,600-square-foot spa, in Switzerland’s legendary Palace Luzern hotel, an operatic experience,” reports Conde Nast Traveler in its just-released “Hot List” of the world’s top hotels, spas, dining and nightspots. The results were announced in the May 2006 issue, which singled out ESPA’s Ayurvedic body wrap as a special treat.

The customized treatment begins with a foot cleansing ritual that soothes while it allows the therapist to determine the guest’s dosha. After a salt and oil body exfoliation, warm oils and herbal concentrates are poured onto the body and hot or warm stones are used in a dosha-specific massage. This is followed by a clay wrap and luxurious Indian head massage. The Ayurvedic wrap is just one of a wide array of tempting treatments, many exclusive to ESPA, that will leave spa-goers relaxed, revitalized and thoroughly pampered.
